A kundli is not a timetable with events printed on it. It is a map of emphases. The same chart can describe a dozen different lives depending on family, culture, health, money and the choices a person actually makes. What the chart can do is give you a useful language for the phases you are moving through.
The chart is not a schedule
Houses describe areas of life, not fixed dates. The fourth house is home and inner ground; the tenth is public work; the seventh is partnership. A planet in a house shows what is living in that room, not when a particular event must happen.
Dasha adds timing, but even dasha is a season rather than a script. Two people with the same Saturn dasha can experience it as a demanding job, a long illness, a period of discipline or a quiet rebuild. The chart describes the weather; your circumstances and choices decide what you do in it.
- Read the house before the prediction.
- Read the planet's sign, dignity and nakshatra before the label.
- Read the dasha as a period of attention.
Foundation and education
The fourth house describes the ground you grew from: home, memory, emotional safety and the private sense of belonging. The fifth house describes curiosity, play, learning and the subjects that keep pulling you back. The Moon and Mercury add texture to how you learn and what makes you feel safe enough to try.
A difficult placement here does not mean a difficult childhood is destiny, and a strong placement does not guarantee an easy one. It describes a pattern you may recognise, repeat or consciously change.
Work and public life
The tenth house describes the public shape of your work: visibility, contribution, reputation and the role you grow into. The sixth house describes the daily craft, the routine and the cost of overwork. Saturn and Mars show how you handle pace, pressure and repetitive effort.
Career readings become more useful when they are specific about the conditions that suit you, not when they name one job. A chart can suggest whether you need autonomy, structure, variety, recognition or a quiet behind-the-scenes role.
Partnership and family
The seventh house describes what you seek in another person and what you are asked to negotiate. Venus describes what you value and enjoy; Mars describes how you pursue and defend. The fourth house describes the home you tend to create, and the Moon describes the care that restores you.
None of this decides whether you marry, whom you marry or when. It describes patterns in closeness, conflict and repair. Those patterns can change with awareness and with the people involved.
Wealth and resources
The second house describes what you accumulate and how you value it. The eleventh describes networks, gains and the people who open doors. Jupiter and Venus are traditionally read as benefic influences, but a placement is not a promise of money.
A useful wealth reading asks how resources move through your life: through salary, clients, family, collaboration, creativity or a long build. It should not be used to justify a risky financial decision or to sell a remedy.
Health, meaning and later life
The first house describes vitality and the sixth describes routine, digestion and the cost of overwork. This is not medical advice. Use the chart as a prompt to notice sleep, food, movement and recovery, and take health concerns to a qualified professional.
The ninth house describes meaning, teachers and the framework you trust. The twelfth describes release, silence and what dissolves. Ketu often points to what you have already known and now need to approach differently. Later life is not a single chapter; it is a change in what you are willing to spend your attention on.
Use the dasha as a calendar for attention
Vimshottari dasha gives a sequence of planetary seasons. The mahadasha is the long weather; the antardasha is the closer weather. Read them alongside the houses and planets involved rather than as standalone predictions.
A simple practice: write down the current mahadasha and antardasha, the houses they rule and the planets involved. Then ask what area of life is asking for attention. That question is usually more useful than a list of predicted events.
Try it with your own chart
Use the guide on your own birth details. The kundali includes the chart, life phases, dasha and remedies.
