What Manglik means
A chart is often called Manglik when Mars occupies the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the rising sign or from the Moon. Some traditions also count from Venus. Mars is associated with heat, urgency and conflict, so these placements are traditionally read closely when marriage is discussed.
Mars also represents courage, protection and the ability to set a boundary. The placement is one part of the chart, not a fixed outcome for a relationship.
Traditional texts discuss cancellations and exceptions, and teachers disagree on the details. AstroYoda reports the traditional count. It does not use Manglik to decide whether a marriage should happen.
